Pet peeve

[ start rant ]
Well I say pet peeve but its actually something that really pisses me off. The a$$holes on the net, these web developers with the helpful attitude. They go around spouting out their blogs with a whole image of helpfulness. Sure they have good articles but my point is its all PR, its all fake. Most of these ken-doll developers have no interest in helping anyone but themselves. Their spraying of blog posts is just advertising to pull in paying clients. If a fellow webdev or just someone who would like a simple answer to a simple question asks them anything they get an email from their secretary saying something like "Im sure you understand but he is busy doing work for paying customers and doesn't have time for you because he is too good for that". Speaking from personal experience? hell yea.

colly.com was the most recent one to annoy me like this. He has many great articles on css and such but when i send an email with a question about css, something i have been trying to fix for ages but really cant seem to solve it, i get the usual snobby "i cant be bothered with you" mail of his secretary. bah i say. Shite on his blogs i wont be reading them anymore, not that he could care less as I'm not actually spending money there.

I never do that, i get a few mails, maybe 10 a month or so, also phone calls and I never feel too high and mighty to aid a fellow programmer. I always make some time, if not directly I let them know I will answer them the following weekend or so.

Anyhoo the problem I'm having is over on http://start.thomassmart.com. Its a css issue that has to to with the float:left setting. The windows are not floated against the above window when they wrap but instead take the y position of the window on the right. Leaving large gaps between windows on the left side. I would realy like to fix this with css and not have to split them up server-side which would require a lot of complex calculations.
